'Daily realities are complex and often bewildering...It is not easy to be a doctor, health visitor or publican and try to bring wholeness and holiness to everything that is to be done ,or to stand against some things which should not. These are no easy tasks and there are no easy answers. The teachings of the Church recognize this. "It is to the laity that secular duties and activities belong .When they act as citizens of the world, they will not only be observing the conditions appropriate to each sphere but they will also be acquiring real expertise in those areas. They will willingly co-operate with others who have the same goal. The laity may expect enlightenment and spiritual help from the clergy. But they should not consider that their pastors always have the expertise needed to provide a concrete and ready answer to every problem" '
